E.J. Blaine has written in one form or another since the seventh grade, where he wrote a time travel story for an English assignment. He received an A+ and a note from the teacher saying he’d read worse stories in magazines where people were paid to write them. A light bulb went off.
Since then, his work has always involved writing. That has ranged from trade and media journalism to film reviews to original screenplays, rewrites, and story editing for the film industry. And of course, he writes fiction. His work ranges across genres, though there’s usually — not always, but usually — some kind of speculative element, even if you have to look for it.
If there’s anything that unifies his work, it’s a sense of fun and adventure. Even when there’s danger all around, his stories offer excitement, possibility, and a sense of hope. You can count on an E.J. Blaine story to take you someplace you’d want to go and show you a good time while you’re there.
